General guidelines for students

Discipline is the law of nature. Without it, nothing works. Inculcating discipline amongst children is the most significant aspect of education and is not confined to school alone. Parents, too, must co-operate with the school in observing these norms:

  • Irregular attendance, unjustified or unexplained absence from school, habitual late coming, leaving the school premises without permission, disobedience, etc. are considered to be grave acts of indiscipline on the part of a student.
  • The school uniform, only in prescribed school colour, should be immaculate, clean, well ironed, and should be worn on all working days, functions and PTMs.
  • Intended or neglectful damage to school property is a serious breach of school discipline.
  • It is not advisable for students to bring valuables to the school.Bringing costly/dangerous items, mobile phones, electronic items, etc. to school is forbidden.
  • No money collection by any student for any purpose is allowed to be made in the school.
  • All our students should observe high standards in their general get up, deportment and conduct.
  • In order to acquire competence in spoken English, all students must converse in English while they are in school.
  • Students are not permitted to carry cellular phones,laptops or any other electronic deviceto the school. If a student brings any such item to the school, it will be confiscated.
  • Students are not allowed to drive motorized vehicles such as cars, scooters and motorcycles within or outside the school.
  • Under no circumstances will crackers, fireworks, firearms and any other inflammable material be permitted in school.
  • Bunking classes or school,writing on shirt/uniform, etc.are strictly prohibited.
  • No student has to indulge in any of the following practices namely :
    • Disfiguring or otherwise damaging any school property.
    • Rowdyism and rude behaviour.
    • Use of violence in any form.
    • Casteism and communalism.
    • Use of obscene language and/or causing hurt to the modesty of others. Any such behaviour will attract serious disciplinary action.
  • If a student is caught in any act of violence which includes physical or sexual abuse, bullying or ragging, drastic action will be taken against the ragger, without risking the identity of the victim
  • In the absence of the teacher from the classroom, students are required to observe silence and obey the monitor of the class. While travelling by school bus, they are expected to follow the instructions of the staff members present in the bus.
  • Staying away from mandatory school functions, including Annual Day and Sports Day without prior permission and/or justification will be considered a discipline fault.
  • Students are responsible to school authorities for their conduct not only in the school but also for their general behaviour. It is expected that through their good behaviour they enhance the prestige of the school.
  • Use of unfair means in the examinations may lead to the expulsion of the student from the school.
  • Every student must possess a copy of the school diary which should be brought to school everyday. Name of the student and personal data should be entered there in written legibly.
  • At the time of leaving the classroom / school, the students should not throw waste papers and any other unwanted material in the class/school but put it in the waste paper basket, have to leave desks and chairs in proper manner, put off lights and fans, close windows and in general the rooms / school have to be left in a condition to be used again.
  • Every student should take care of the school property;
  • Students are expected to take care of the library books. Writing or marking on a book is strictly forbidden.
